Over the past 14 years of performing bodywork, the wisdom and beauty of the human body have taught me more than I could have ever imagined, the power of healing touch humbles me every day, and the gifts I receive from giving are innumerable. My journey as a massage therapist began with the intention to enhance my palpation skills before moving on into the world of medicine. I aspired to make a change in the healthcare system, but little did I know I could fulfill that goal, and achieve so much more than I ever imagined, as a therapeutic massage therapist.
I believe that collectively, informed and empowered individuals have the potential to create the most change. Therapeutic massage has the capacity to initiate an exploration of the inner environment, invite us to listen to the quiet voice of innate wisdom, help up welcome and integrate each unique experience, and ultimately empower us to take responsibility for our health.
I am passionate about health, healing, and learning. Thankfully, the opportunities for growth and discovery are endless with, and within, the body. I strive to expand my knowledge every year by taking continuing education classes, receiving bodywork, and honoring my own evolving healing journey.
I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including a massage school, a spa, a chiropractor's office, and ultimately my own practice. My schedule is unconventional in that I don't have set hours. So, give me a call and we will find a time that fits for both of us!
WHAT TO EXPECT AT A SESSION
To get the most out of your appointment, give yourself 2-3 hours total for the entire experience.
Before my arrival, I highly recommend that you schedule enough time to slow down, breathe, and connect with your body using whatever connective practices you are aligned with. This will allow you to enter your session present and ready to receive.
At the time of your appointment, you can expect me to arrive at your home wearing a KN95 mask - I am also fully vaccinated and boosted. I will spend approximately a half an hour setting up my table, getting acquainted, talking about your needs, health history, and any other pertinent information from your intake form. I will also ask you to think about an intention for our time together. Each session is unique depending on what you need, physically and emotionally, in that moment. Setting an intention gives you the opportunity to participate in how the experience unfolds from the very beginning, after all therapeutic massage is a collaborative experience. Once you are comfortably settled on the table, the rest of our time will unfold in an intuitive way as we work together to unwind and release tension patterns. At the end of your session, we might spend some time talking about anything that came up during the work, or I might quickly pack up leaving you to relax and savor the experience.
Payment can also be made at the beginning of the session to simplify your experience.
Remember, you deserve to be treated well and to be taken care of, so give yourself permission after your appointment to explore being in your body in a more open and spacious way. I invite you to be curious and listen in to what it might be trying to share with you!
